Highway 1, 7 & 9 Weather Locations
General Route Information
Highway 1 crosses Metro Vancouver on the mainland beginning at Horseshoe Bay. (View the Horseshoe Bay Cam ) then onto the Fraser Valley Regional District on its entry into Abbotsford. There are six interchanges on Highway 1 (see McCallum Road Cameras) in its 33 km (21 mi) long stretch through Abbotsford, one of which leads to Highway 11. Once Highway 1 leaves Abbotsford, it crosses over the Vedder Canal into Chilliwack. The highway goes through Chilliwack for 24 km (15 mi), passing through five interchanges within the city.
2 km (1¼ mi) after leaving Chilliwack, Highway 1 reaches an interchange with Highway 9. East of the Highway 9 interchange, Highway 1 hugs the south bank of the Fraser River for 35 km (22 mi), passing through seven interchanges, until reaching the interchange with Highway 3 at Hope. Highway 1 takes the exit off the freeway at this point. (The freeway alignments of Highways 3 and 5 continue from this exit, Exit 170, and continue unbroken until it meets up again with Highway 1 just west of Kamloops at Exit 362.) Most traffic traveling between Hope and Kamloops follow Highway 5 as it takes over an hour and a half less time to travel compared to following Highway 1. Highway 7's total length is 118 km (93 mi). It begins at the westbound exit with Highway 1 near Schoolhouse Street, the total length is 2.3 km. The highway then turns immediately northeast, meets with Highway 1 at the Cape Horn Interchange and immediately after, an exit with United Boulevard.
Then Highway 7 crosses over the Pitt River Bridge into Pitt Meadows. 6 km (4 mi) southeast of the Pitt River bridge, Highway 7 crosses into Maple Ridge at Maple Meadows Way, and the highway then crosses into Mission another 20 km (12 mi) east. 9 km (6 mi) of Highway 7's entry into Mission, it meets a junction with Highway 11. 8 km (5 mi) east of the Highway 11 junction, Highway 7 leaves Mission over the Hatzic Pump Bridge.
27 km (17 mi) east of the Highway's eastern exit from Mission, Highway 7 enters the Municipality of Kent. 14 km (9 mi) east, Highway 7 reaches a junction with Highway 9 at Agassiz. 18 km (11 mi) northeast of the Highway 9 junction, Highway 7 leaves Kent. Another 12 km (7 mi) northeast, Highway 7 finally reaches its eastern terminus at a junction with Highway 1 at Haig, just across the Fraser River from the main part of Hope
Highway 9 is 16 km (10 mi) long. In the south, the Highway starts at an interchange on Highway 1 between Rosedale and the Bridal Falls area (see Highway 1 Bridal Falls Camera. Highway 9 travels north for 3 km (2 mi) to its 2 km (1¼ mi) long bridge over the Fraser River. After crossing the Fraser, Highway 9 travels north for 2 km (1¼ mi) to the centre of Agassiz. 1 km (about ½ mi) north of Agassiz, Highway 9 meets Highway 7, and the two highways share a common alignment for another 2 km (1¼ mi). Highway 9 then travels 6 more km (4 mi) north to terminate at Harrison Hot Springs and Harrison Lake BC ..
